Fans of competitive gaming are in for a treat this summer, with the upcoming eSports calendar packed with some truly unmissable events.
Read on as we pick out three major tournaments worth watching, starting with one which has a staggering prize pool up for grabs.
The Esports World Cup 2025 – July 7 – August 4
The eSports World Cup (EWC) is back for its second edition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this summer.
Organized by the eSports World Cup Foundation and ESL FACEIT Group, this year’s event promises to be an even bigger showpiece than the 2024 headline-grabber.
EWC 2025 features 25 events across popular titles such as League of Legends, Dota 2, VALORANT, Counter-Strike 2, PUBG Mobile, and Chess, giving every genre of gamer something to anticipate.
The festival has two competitions – individual game championships and the club championship – in which battle-tested eSports teams will compete in a cross-title points race.
The club championship features 40 organizations slugging it out for a $27 million prize pool, with the top eSports club claiming $7m.
The event structure opens the floor for rising stars and established clubs to shine. This is the ultimate battleground for gamers to test their mettle.
The PUBG Nations Cup 2025 – Late July
The 2025 PUBG Nations Cup (PNC) will be held at the Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Seoul in late July, and this year’s event has some encouraging developments that signal growth.
It will have 24 teams, an increase from the 16 that competed at the last edition, making it the most diverse and competitive PNC yet.
Reigning champions South Korea will put their title on the line against eSports heavyweights such as China, the United States of America, Brazil, and Thailand.
New contenders France, Spain, Poland, Sweden, and Malaysia will be eager to make their mark, while India and Denmark return to the fold after missing out last year.
Many eSports fans are wondering whether Australia can surprise the world. And you would not bet against the Aussies after their promising showing last year.
Aussie bettors looking to profit from their knowledge of eSports will be wagering on their favourite clubs and players this summer.
Numerous Australian betting sites offer a wide range of markets for eSports events, and they will be inundated with wagers from Aussie punters during the PNC.
Australia will be determined to upset the odds as they strive to build on the promise they have previously shown in PNC tournaments.
FISSURE Summer 2025 – July 15 – 20
If the ever-popular Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) is your favorite eSports event, FISSURE Summer 2025 is the tournament for you.
Held in Belgrade, Serbia, between July 15 and 20, the LAN event gathers 16 elite CS2 teams for one week of raw, unadulterated, high-pressure action.
The teams will battle for a piece of the $1m prize pool. This is the first of two FISSURE tournaments in 2025. Competitors will likely use the summer event to gauge themselves against other teams ahead of the end-of-year clash.
The tournament format is perfect for the competition purists – four groups of four teams and double elimination. Only the top two from each group make it to the elimination play-offs.
Every point will count, meaning there is no room for mistakes. Teams need to bring their A-game from the start to the finish.
The line-ups are still under wraps, but FISSURE is renowned for featuring the best teams around, delivering quality gameplay and production that rivals even the more prominent tournaments.
CS2 continues to evolve as a game, and this summer’s FISSURE event will be a key test of the current landscape. It is not just the money on the line that drives teams to compete. They want prestige, momentum, and recognition.
